Values at the Crossroads of Hope

Peace (John 16:33)
As followers of Jesus we are called to be grounded in the truth that is larger than ourselves. We believe that through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God defeated evil once and for all and brought us who were enemies of God into a state of peace with God. Now we are called to be instruments of peace within the world as we assist God in the continued work of redemption throughout the world.

Justice (Matt 25:32-36)
As followers of Jesus we are not allowed to ignore the suffering and injustice in our world; to do so would be unfaithful to the hope to which we were called. If we are going to follow Jesus then we have to care for and love the people that Jesus cares for and loves. We believe that we have been blessed to be a blessing and through our time, talents and money we seek to love others completely. To invite someone into a relationship with Jesus but refuse to feed one's hungry stomach is to not love that person completely. To feed someone's hungry stomach but not invite one into a relationship with Jesus is also not to love that person completely. We believe that God wants to redeem every part of creation and by living lives of service, sacrifice, and love we participate in God's whole redemption of the world.
